Association for protection of Civil Rights formulated a fact finding team which visited Makkah Masjid and found certain lapses in its maintenance. The team found that weeds are growing on the roof and walls of Makkah Masjid. Due to the absence of chemical coating on the stones of the walls, they are breaking. The courtyard of the mosque is the abode of rats. The color used on the ceiling is injurious to the building. State Secretary of the Association Mr. Syed Shafiullah Quadri met Mr. Vijay Kumar, Dy. Director of the Department of Archeology and Museums and presented a memorandum to take immediate steps for the protection of this historic masjid. The damages and irregularities were also depicted through photographs. Mr. Vijay Kumar told that due to lack of staff proper care was not possible. The society decided to bring these lapses to the notice of CM of Telangana State.
