‘Wearing iconic cap doesn’t make you netaji’, tweets Shobhaa De

NEW DELHI: Author and columnist Shobhaa De, who is known for making controversial comments on micro-blogging site Twitter has invited ire of Modi’s supporters for taking a dig at the Prime Minister, saying ‘wearing iconic cap doesn’t make you Netaji’

The photo of PM Modi wearing the famous Azad Hind Fauj cap to mark the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of ‘Azad Hind government’ by Subhash Chandra Bose went viral on Sunday.

Addressing the event held at the Red Fort in Delhi, PM Modi said, “It is unfair that to glorify one family. The contribution of several other great leaders was deliberately forgotten. It is high time more Indians knew about the historic role of stalwarts Sardar Patel, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Netaji Subhas Bose.”
