We will prove our strength in the house:Botsa

PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said his party would prove its strength on the floor of the House if any party chooses to move a no-confidence motion against the government, in the ensuing Assembly session.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, Botcha said the ruling party would show its numerical strength in the House itself and would not join the issue with the Opposition outside. He said the party was ready to face a no-confidence motion, whoever might try to move it. He claimed that the government had a comfortable majority in the House.

Referring to some MLAs leaving the party, Botcha said his party was ready to face by-elections if the Speaker disqualifies these members. Replying to a question, the PCC chief said there might be by-elections but not mid-term polls.

It may be recalled that both the TDP and the YSR Congress Party have been challenging each other to move a no-confidence motion against the government. YSR Congress is charging the TDP with supporting the government and this was the reason why the main Opposition party was not coming forward to move a no-confidence motion against the government. The party is challenging the TDP to move the motion to disprove its allegation.

Party leader and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila has even offered to move no-trust motion from her party and asked whether the TDP would support it.

However, the TDP is challenging the YSR Congress to parade its members before the Governor, and if it had enough strength in the House, topple the government.
