We will make Hyderabad a top IT destionation: KTR

IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao on Thursday said the goal of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government was to make Hyderabad a top IT destination. The Minister criticized the the previous governments for not tapping the real potential of Hyderabad.

Asserting that the TRS government had a comprehensive and clear-cut long-term development strategy, KTR said the government’s industrial policy would be announced on June 12 by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. “While Google’s massive investment will bring jobs to many IT professionals in Telangana, companies such as Micromax will also set up manufacturing units in the city, bringing jobs to the unemployed youth,” he said.

Also, a technology incubator would be started within a fortnight and Union Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was expected to inaugurate the same, he said. “The TRS government is committed to creating a favourable atmosphere for local and global investors. We want investors to know that we are open for business and we will do our best to make it easy for them to conduct business in Telangana,” KTR said.

When asked about OU land, the Minister said “What is the harm if we use it to build houses for the poor?” In the past, when 200 acres of prime land from the OU campus was acquired by previous governments, nobody questioned them,” he pointed out, adding that a government that had been given a clear mandate by the people should be trusted for its policies and every step it took could not be questioned.
