Making a fervent appeal to the students in the Telangana region not to commit suicides for the statehood issue, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Prof M Kodandaram today said the Telangana state can be achieved if all the parties fight collectively.
Speaking to mediapersons at Vemulavada, he said as the ruling Congress and the opposition Telugu Desam Party
(TDP) had failed to spell out their stands on the Telangana issue, the students were resorting to self-immolations.
Mr Kodandaram said if the parties wanted to stop the spree of suicides by the students and youth, they should
announce their parties’ stand at least now.
Meanwhile, the bus yatra taken up by the Telangana JAC reached Basara in Adilabad district today.
Later, the leaders participated in the yatra had worshipped Goddess Saraswathi at Basara and performed
special pujas for achieving the Telangana state.
