We have boys and weapons, will kill Kanahiya, Umar before Durga Ashtami: UP Navnirman Sena

Amid the threatening to JNU students by Hindutuva forces, now once again, Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena (UPNS), a Meerut-based organization threatened to shoot JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and research student Umar Khalid.

The Sena threatened to storm the JNU campus and gun down Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid unless the two leave Delhi by March 31. “If Khalid and Kumar did not leave Delhi by March 31, they will have to face serious consequences”, says Sena’s UP unit’s president Amit Jani.

Jani who is upset with Kumar’s comments on the Indian Army and his rape implications against the Army, posted the threat on his Facebook profile.

A report in the Times of India says that the post had close to 2,000 ‘Likes, 1000 comments and was shared 148 times in less than a day. Jani also added an element of drama in the threat, by telling TOI later that he will execute his plans before Durga Ashtami! He also asked for people’s ‘support’ for the task.

“There are four days left for the ultimatum to leave Delhi by March 31. Tell me, countrymen. Are we ready to finish him (Kanhaiya) off after that? We have the boys and we have the weapons”, Jani said in his post, which was written in Hindi.

“We will do this quietly, without giving notice, so that he does not vanish like Owaisi and so that the police don’t intervene. I want to know if people support this cause, for which I am willing to go to jail. I swear on Maa Bhagwati, if I can’t organize a shootout at JNU then I will quit politics”, he added.

He stood by his word saying “In 2012, I had asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to raze the statues of Mayawati, but as the govt failed to do so, I myself broke the statues. So, I am a man of words who does what he says”, said Jani.
