Mumbai, June 16: All those women who admire Shiney Ahuja’s dove-eyed looks have never been this disgusted.
For it isn’t everyday that a Bollywood actor gets disgraced to this level.
Shiney, a rising star in Bollywood with much critical acclaim to boast about has unfortunately created news for all the wrong reasons. The actor, who was arrested here late Sunday night for allegedly raping his maid, has been sent to a three day police remand but looks the story has just begun.
All those people who thought that Shiney was perhaps made a victim of something entirely unknown, had chills going down their spines on Monday when reports of the actor finally admitting to having a physical relationship with his housemaid poured in.
According to latest media reports, Shiney, in his statement to the police said that he is being framed in rape charges. Explaining the situation, Ahuja is believed to have said, “No, I didn’t rape … We had sex, but it was consensual.”
Shiney was apparently in tears throughout the interrogation and did break down couple of times. His arrest has sent shock waves throughout the film fraternity and not many people barring filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt have come out to talk about the issue in the open.
“It is a shameful act and it must be condemned. He has confessed and he will be in big trouble,” says Bhatt.
In the meanwhile Shiney’s wife, Anu Ahuja, who stays away with their daughter, has said, “He is a man of character and the family stands by him.”
Following are the excerpts from Shiney Ahuja’s statement to the police:
Q: Do you know the girl?
A: Yes she is my maid.
Q: For how long?
A: One-and-a-half months. My earlier maid Sangeeta got her temporarily. My cook Mohan and his wife know about this.
Q: Where were you yesterday afternoon?
A: At home.
Q: Were you there when she came to work?
A: Yes I was.
Q: The girl has alleged you have raped her.
A: No, I didn`t. I am being framed.
Q: The girl says she came at 12 noon and at about 3 pm you dragged her from the passage to the bedroom and raped her…
A: No, I didn`t rape …We had sex, but it was consensual.
