Karimnagar, October 17: The Telangana Congress leaders have warned the State government that they will not hesitate to topple it if it failed to withdraw the cases against those who participated in the Telangana agitation and rail roko programmes.
The MPs Dr K Keshava Rao, Mr Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Dr G Vivek, Mr Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, former minister Mr Komatireddy Venkat Reddy have called on the Karimnagar MP Mr Ponnam Prabhakar and former minister Mr T Jeevan Reddy, who were put in Karimnagar Jail, following their arrest for participating in Rail-Roko stir.
Speaking to the media later, they said that efforts of obstruction of movement by the government will be a day dream. Alleging that the government actions were against the spirit of democracy, they demanded the government to recognize the aspirations of four and half crore Telangana people.
Demanding the government to withdraw the cases immediately, they alleged that the arrests were showing its arrogant attitude. Mr Venkat Reddy warned the government that they were ready to quit the party and participate in the people’s movement for Telangana if it failed to respond on Telangana issue. The Panchayat Raj Minister Mr K Jana Reddy’s appeal to the striking employees has hurt him a lot, he said and added that he was ashamed at the ministers’ plea to the employees to call off the Samme. He alleged that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy government was trying to suppress the movement and made it clear that he was ready for any sort of sacrifices to achieve separate state.
Demanding the state government to keep all the agitators in jails, he warned the government that he will show the strength of the four and half crore Telangana people. He said that it was not good for the Chief Minister and DGP to make provocative statements and made it clear that the creation of separate Telangana would become a reality at any cost.
