We are Good Friends, Azhar’s services will be used wherever necessary: Kiran

As declared the TRS has forwarded to Assembly Speaker its notice of no confidence against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government

Led by the party’s floor leader E.Rajender, the TRS members met Speaker Nadendla Manohar and submitted their notice of no trust against the government. The BJP and CPI members extended support to the TRS move.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy remained undeterred about the no confidence motion and exuded confidence that his government would come out unscathed.

Interacting with the media in his chambers in the Assembly premises, the Chief Minister said that appropriate decision would be taken as per rules with regard to the resignations of some Congress members. He said the ruling part has adequate strength in the House to defeat the no confidence motion.

Kiran Kumar Reddy further stated that the Telangana issue was in the purview of the central Congress leadership and hence the question of any resolution in the Assembly does not arise. After the centre’s decision, what has to be done in the Assembly would be decided, he observed.

The Chief Minister said that the Congress would win more number of seats in the 2014 elections than the present strength. In fact he asserted the Congress coming back to power again with flying colors. He also made it amply clear that the party tickets for contesting the Assembly elections would be given to those who perform well ensuring the party’s victory in the ensuing local bodies elections.

Asked about fielding former Indian Cricket Captain and Moradabad Lok Sabha member Md. Azharuddin from Hyderabad parliamentary constituency against MIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, the Chief Minister quipped “ Azhar is good friend of mine”. As regards MIM severing its ties with the Congress, he pointed out that Congress party is like River Ganges. Many will come and me will go but the Congress would remain intact. New persons would come in place those who go. The minorities are still with the Congress party, he observed.

Azharuddin is my good friend. We will use his services wherever we feel necessary,” said the chief minister during a chat with media persons here.

After meeting Kiran Kumar Reddy in New Delhi last week, the MP from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh said he was interested in the politics of his home state. “It is for the high command to decide,” Azharuddin had quipped when asked if he would contest from Hyderabad on Congress ticket.

The Hyderabadi had joined Congress party before 2009 elections and was elected to Lok Sabha from Moradabad.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court in November last year had struck down the life-time ban imposed on Azharuddin by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on charges of match-fixing.

Facing a political challenge from MIM after the latter withdrew support dubbing him “communal”, Kiran Kumar Reddy is reportedly planning to pit Azharuddin against Owaisi, whose family has been winning the Hyderabad seat for three decades.

Kiran Kumar Reddy and Azharuddin are good friends from their cricketing days at Hyderabad’s Nizam College. Azharuddin played under the wicketkeeper batsman in various age groups between 1977 and early 1980s.

The Chief Minister said the power crisis would be solved before the elections. He would revamp his ministry after the current budget session.
