Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat yesterday released the second edition of Aabshaar (Waterfall) at Mahboob Hussain Jigar Hall, Siasat office. It is a collection of poems of late Syed Abu Saad Syed. His son Mr. Jaleel Azhar, Staff Reporter Siasat at Nirmal has published this book.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that for the past 25 years, Mr. Jaleel Azhar has been working as the reporter of Siasat and he is one of the members of Siasat family. He said that he has made Jaleel Azhar his younger brother. He also said that those who respect their elders are fortunate.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that for the Urdu poets born in Deccan, it is difficult to get popularity. Although Hyderabad has produced great poets but they did not get popularity they deserved.
On the contrary, the minor Urdu poets of the North who recite the poems of the other poets, are being counted as great poets. Hyderabad has produced Maqdoom Mohiuddin, Shahid Siddiqui, and OWJ Yakoobi. They used to say that they are identified with Deccan and living on high mountains, they looks at the others with eyes downwards but today he is compelled to say that every great man look down upon others. Pointing at Mr. Sultan Ahmed former MLC and Mr. Pramood Kumar, DCP Balanagar, he said these persons represent the mixed civilization of Ganga and Jamuna. Remembering his father late Mr. Abid Ali Khan, founder editor of Siasat, he said that Mr. Abid Ali Khan, throughout his life concentrated on two things: the promotion of Urdu and the mixed culture of Hyderabad. Today, we have started forgetting our culture.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan pointed out that there was a time when people used to wipe out their mouths before going out of the house but today, people don’t hesitate to eat on the roads. He told that we have to get back our old culture. It is our duty for which we have to make cumulative efforts.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan pointed out that the expertise Amjad Hyderabadi had acquired in composing quadrains (Rubayiaat) no one could achieve. Siasat has the honour of publishing his poems. He mentioned that Siasat has taught Urdu to 6 lakh students. He said that a student who had passed “Urdu Aalim” and “Urdu Fazil” courses from Idara-e-Adabiat-e-Urdu, completed B.A. M.A. and Ph.D from Osmania University and he has been selected as professor by the University of Hyderabad.
He lamented that Urdu Academy has not been giving Maqdoom Award and other awards to Urdu writers. He appealed to the Govt. to release these awards by the end of this year. He informed that nearly 4 lakh scholarship applications were registered online by Siasat. He mentioned that Urdu is spoken in the entire world today.
He suggested that Govt. should come forward with an open heart to promote Urdu. He told that and open heart to promote Urdu. He told that Urdu is our mother tongue. We should love Urdu as we love our mother. Everyone can’t appreciate Urdu Ghazal.
Allama Aijaz Farukh, in his unique style presented the journey of Urdu Ghazal from Delhi to Hyderabad. He said that it is the specificity of Urdu Ghazal that it embodies the passions and feelings of heart in the form of poetry.
Mr. Syed Arif Ali highlighted the life and literary work of late Syed Abu Saad Syed. He said that he was born in 1918 at Shahpur of Gulbarga District. He started composing Urdu couplets right from the age of 15 years. He has so much depth in his poetry that the future generations will fulfill their literary sensibilities from his poems.
His poems encompass social political and economic issues. He had established a library in Nirmal and with his efforts, Mushairas started in Nirmal.
