Finally the issue of payment of salary to the workers of State Waqf Board has been resolved. Due to absence of Special Officer in Waqf Board, payment of salaries to Waqf Board workers was put on hold.
The post of Special Officer is vacant since June 18. On calling attention towards the issue, Secretary Minority Welfare Ahmed Nadeem after consultation with the government, assigned powers to Chief Executive Officer M A Hameed to issue salaries. Official orders were issued in this connection following which M A Hameed signed the file of payment of salaries. It is likely that amount will be transferred to bank accounts of the workers by Thursday.
