Hyderabad: Telangana Waqf Board has planned to restore historical masajid located at the city outskirts. A meeting was conducted with officials of respective departments to restore masajid under Archeological Survey of India.
Waqf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem submitted the details of the masajid under the Archeological Survey which the Board wants to restore, to Deputy Director Archeological Survey of India K Narayana. He submitted the details of 400 year old Qutub Shahi masjid located at Shaikhpet which is mentioned in the Waqf Gazette. The beautiful masjid named Masjid-e-Shaikh has been abandoned since long. Locals have assured their support in restoration of the masjid.
Mr. Saleem said after the permission from Archeological Survey of India, the masajid will be repaired and renovated. He also said Waqf Board will restore all the abandoned masajid of the city and begin prayers five times a day.
Meanwhile Rangareddy Collector has been invited at Waqf Board office on Friday in connection with the demolition of illegal parking shades erected on Eidgah Guttala Begumpet land.
