WB govt to submit affidavit to HC on Lalgarh firing tomorrow

Kolkata, January 12:Following the Calcutta High Court’s directive to state its position on the demand for a CBI inquiry into the Lalgarh firing incident and existence of armed CPI-M camps, the West Bengal government today said it will submit its affidavit tomorrow.

We have sought reports from the SPs of all three Maoist-hit districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia immediately on armed camps,” Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh said here.

To a question, Ghosh said that if camps were found to exist, the state government would immediately take action against them.

The high court gave the direction to file and affidavit on its position on a PIL by the Bar Association of the high court.
