New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday expressed its displeasure over the waving of Pakistan and ISIS flags in Srinagar and asked the Centre to initiate immediate rectifying measures to bring an end to the latest developments in the valley.
“I think these developments in the valley are not only unwelcome, these are undesirable and calls for immediate rectifying measures from the government,” RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha told ANI.
“I never expected things to reach this level, particularly post Ufa. The kind of images we saw in Ufa and then what we see in Jammu and Kashmir today is a very negative development. The Government of India should not waste any time and should ask all stakeholders in Kashmir to be on alert and make sure that these images are not repeated because two things cannot go side by side,” he added.
Pakistan and ISIS flags were waved in Srinagar today during the protest over hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s detention.
The police personnel had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the protestors, who pelted stones at the men in uniform, to vent their ire over Geelani’s house arrest.
Geelani and several other separatist leaders have been put under house arrest in the city.(ANI)
