On the occasion of formation of Telangana State, Hyderabad National Rowing Federation is organizing Water Sport Regatta at 7 p.m. on 5th June at Husain Sagar. President of Yatch Club of Hyderabad Mr. S. Shaik told that Govt. of Telangana is making an attempt to conduct Water Sports Regatta. He further told that 5-6 teams are likely to participate in this program. Govt. is taking precautions to check pollution and foul smell in the water of Husain Sagar. Dept. of Tourism is also extending its cooperation. Mr. B.P. Acharya, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Tourism and Sport told that the intensity of summer heat and the pressure of hot air is likely to get reduced in the next few days. He also told that after a long time monsoon will collide with Husain Sagar on 7th June. Supreme Court has sought a report from the experts on the preservation of lake water. This report will be presented within 40 days. Supreme Court also directed the committee to submit its report before court vacations begin in New Delhi. It may be noted that the committee had sought clarification from GHMC and Govt. of Telangana to give the details of the constructions around Husain Sagar Lake. Govt. approach the High Court and got injunction orders. Govt. issued stay order on 26th May with instructions to appoint NGT experts to review the constructions to be undertaken by the Govt.
