Advisor to Telangana Government Vidyasagar Rao here on Sunday said the river water allocations should be made on States’ wise instead of projects wise.
Speaking to the media in the Secretariat, Vidyasagar Rao said out of 481 tmc of water coming from Jurala to Nagarjunasagar, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States have to share 281 and 200 tmc respectively. The difference of share of water between the two States is 811 tmc. As per the AP Reorganization Act, Telangana should get 299 tmc and Andhra Pradesh 512 tmc.
Vidyasagar Rao expressed surprise over the argument of Andhra Pradesh that they should not talk about the share in waters. In that case, on what basis the two States could consume quantity of water if there was no agreement on the share of waters. (NSS)
