New Delhi, August 01: There is no end of troubles for Commonwealth Games Organising Committee. The weightlifting arena of Nehru Stadium, which was inaugurated on Sunday, has witnessed water logging and water seepage.
The water seepage at weightlifting arena shows how the ill-treated constructions are underway at CWG stadia.
The poor state of CWG venues add more fuel to recently surfaced contracts scam.
However, Urban Development Ministry Jaipal Reddy has different view on Nehru Stadium’s water leakage. He said that water leakage inside the stadium was due to some problem in drainage system.
He further said that if there were any points of leakage, they would be attended soon.
Not many days are left in the in the start of Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and the water seepage at Nehru Stadium exposes loopholes in the ongoing construction works.
August 1 is also deadline for contractors to hand over the stadia but it seems that they have failed to meet the deadline.
