Water released from Himayath Sagar

Hyderabad, September 25: As the flood water reached the danger mark and the Himayath Sagar is receiving massive inflows of waters the 4 gates have been opened upto the level of 3 feet as precautionary measure.

About 4,000 cusecs of water were released downstream of the river Musi after the water touched its full reservoir level of 1763.50 feet.

According to the press release issued by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water supply and Sewerage Board ‘If there are more inflows into the reservoir, more number of gates will be opened at night. People living on either side of the Musi have been asked to be cautious.’

People of the city are moving on towards Himayat sagar for excursion since it has been overflowing. Two youth were reportedly washed away as the water was released while they were taking a stroll. They could not be retrieved so far.
