Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Monday gave a clarion call for all police men in the state to take up Water Harvesting and also Swacch Telangana campaign at all police stations and complex and surroundings
Participating at a program for building water harvesting pits in the DGP’s office, the DGP said saving every drop of water by conserving water use and also water harvesting was essential in view of water scarcity across the state. “The police should consider it as a social responsibility act to conserve water for sake of future generations,” he said
Senior police officers Satyanaraian, M.Gopi Krishna, Krishna Prasad, Ravi Gupta, Sandeep Shandilya, Bala Naga devi, V.V Srinivas Rao, Naveen Chand, Shivadhar Reddy, K. Srinivas Reddy, M.K.Singh, Sanjay Kumar Jain, Akun Sabharval and other officials of the DGP office participated in water harvesting program.
They poured gravel mixed with sand in to the water harvesting chambers built in the complex. Later they also took up cleaning of the premises stretching over a 1 km in the DGP complex and removed litter and garbage from the petrol pump area under the Swatch Telangana program. The officers were cleaned all the scrubs and bushes near petrol pump and cleared a stretch of near 1 kilometre road leading to the staff quarters and loaded the garbage into the he tractors.
Later, Sanjay Kumar Jain along with a team of officers including Ramesh Reddy, went round all the sections in the DGP Offices and exhorted the staff to maintain cleanliness in their sections. They also adjudged the SC section as the best maintained section and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-
Presenting the award to the SC section the DGP said competition will be held frequently to encourage the staff in the DGP complex to keep it spick and span
DSP Giri Raj, Chief Security Officer Yogeshwara Rao coordinated the program of building the water conservation pits and also other operations under the Swatch Telangana campaign. (INN)
