The Telangana Government is all set to offer water connection for poor people for Rs. 1. The scheme is proposed to be launched on June 2 on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, according to sources.
Originally, the proposal to provide water connection for Rs. 1 was given by a Cabinet Sub-Committee. It had also proposed to regularise all illegal connections without imposing any penalty. Accepting these proposals, the State Government has reportedly decided to launch it from June 2. However, the scheme would be applicable for those having white ration cards. (INN)
