Hyderabad, October 10: A team from the World Bank led by William Kingdom, lead water specialist, and Sreenivasa Rao has evinced interest in the various proposals submitted for supplying continuous water supply to the core city and on GIS applications.
The team has asked the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) to place more emphasis on reduction of Non Revenue Water (NRW) and Unaccounted For Water (UFW) fronts by adopting the best technological practices.
HMWS&SB Managing Director M T Krishna Babu made presentation to the World Bank team on various proposed water supply and sewerage projects that require financial assistance.
Proposals pertaining to fixing of metering for DMA’s, leak detection arrangements, reduction of Non Revenue Water and an-accounted for water aspects were also presented to them.
The World Bank team appreciated the Board for its Metro Customer Care, Single Window Cell and Major Water Supply and Sewerage Projects developed under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and NRCD, as per standard quality norms and expressed satisfaction on the overall delivery of services to the customers of Hyderabad city.
