People wish to take a splash into a pool to beat the summer heat but this summer they may face disappointment as many swimming pools in the twin cities have gone dry due to scarcity of water. Those which are not closed are not maintained properly and the water is not being changed for weeks.
Keeping in view the water crisis Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has decided to cut water supply to swimming pools belonging to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and private swimming pools.
Although GHMC has requested HMWS&SB to supply water to the swimming pools at regular intervals till summer is over. But the HMWS&SB says it is not in a position to provide water to swimming pools due to acute shortage.
