Hyderabad: Police used force to disperse the students who were protesting against the joining duty of Prof. Appa Rao, VC of University of Hyderabad.
It may be mentioned that an FIR has been lodged in police against Prof. Appa Rao making him responsible for the suicide of Rohit Vemula, a student of the university. The students alleged that when investigations are in progress against Prof. Appa Rao, it is not appropriate for him to take charge as VC. In the past, Prof. Appa Rao manipulated with the records when Commissioner of Police of Cyberabad, Dr. C. V. Anand gave a report that no violence was caused by the students to ABVP leader in the second week of February 2016.
Police resorted to Lathi Charge brutally and dispersed the students.
