Mumbai:  The OPD ward of a hospital in Chembur turned into a dance floor where over 20 women staff members – including doctors, nurses and class IV workers organised a cultural song-and-dance event turning away patients since all are busy in dancing.

Loud music was being played through speakers for hours and hospital staff were partying inside the premises were not interrupted, the complaint alleged .

The OPD was closed for around 800 patients and they were told that the doctors are busy. The patients asked to return the next day as could not be attended on that day.

The hospital is now facing an inquiry ordered by BMC regarding the OPD party that took place on March 2.
