Urdu Academy was established on December 31, 1975 in Andhra Pradesh state for the promotion and development of Urdu language and literature under which 70 Urdu libraries were established in various districts of the state. But in the era of globalization when foreign language reigns supreme, step motherly treatment is meted out towards Urdu language.
There are 11 libraries only in Hyderabad while the central library is in Purani Haveli. Various newspapers are subscribed for those libraries daily but there is no arrangement for selling of waste-paper in the libraries. Urdu newspapers for the past 22 years are saved here but the English and Telugu newspapers gather dirt in the form of waste papers.
If all the waste papers are collected at one place and dealing is done with any big company which will collect the waste papers itself it can give the academy a huge profit.
