Home Minister, Ms. Sabitha Indira Reddy reviewed the law and order situation in the city. She instructed the police officials to take stern action against the miscreants and not to allow them to disrupt the peace of the city. She told the newsmen that there is nothing to worry about the law and other situation in the city. Govt. and police have strict vigil on the law and order situation in the city which is under control. She appealed to people no to pay heed to rumours. They should not be excited and should not take any wrong step. She made an appeal to public to maintain peace and communal harmony.
Police officials apprised her of the incidents of pelting stones by miscreants after the Friday prayer near Charminar and setting ablaze vehicles parked in that area. Police arrested some youths on the spot. Strict vigil is being maintained by deploying extra forces of police in very sensitive areas. The officials assured her that miscreants won’t be allowed free hand to disrupt peace.
It is reported that Ms. Sabitha Indira Reddy instructed the police officials to keep her informed about the law and order situation in the city from time to time. According to informed sources, the Home Minister approprised the Chief Minister of the latest law and order situation. An official of the police holding an important position told that some miscreants have been trying in vain to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the city in the name of communal riots. They are making an unsuccessful attempt from time to time. He said that 25 to 30 persons have been identified. These miscreants would be exposed in a few days. Special teams of police have been constituted for this purpose.
