The State government would accord a grand welcome to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, who will be arriving here on August 21 and honour him with public felicitation at Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to honour Venkaiah in a befitting manner through a warm welcome and grand felicitation and asked the Chief Secretary to make necessary arrangements. Consequently, Chief Secretary SP Singh today directed the officials of various departments to ensure that elaborate arrangements are made for Venkaiah Naidu’s visit.
At a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary said as per the Chief Minister’s directive, arrangements should be made to give Venkaiah a grand reception at Begumpet Airport and felicitation at the Raj Bhavan. On his arrival at the Airport, the Vice President will get a grand welcome and then proceed directly to Raj Bhavan to attend the felicitation by the Chief Minister. Every department has been asked to make necessary arrangements like traffic control, repair to roads and upkeep, sanitatoin, security, uninterrupted power supply at airport, drinking water, services of Health & Medical department, Fire Services, Horticulture, Information & Public Relations, power, State Technology services and others.
Governor ESLNarasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, deputy chief ministers, Kadiam Srihari, Mahamood Ali, Cabinet ministers, Mayor Rammohan and other leaders will attend the program. (NSS)
