The male warden of a private girl’s hostel has been charged of molesting minor girl students from Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet.
The hostel warden of Navya Girls Hostel, Narender Goud, 60- year-old was accused of touching the girls inappropriately and be naughty with them, said the Begumpet police. Following a complaint from Childline, the police have booked a case against the warden.
The incident became known after the city’s Child Helpline received an anonymous call complaining that hostel inmates in Begumpet are being treated badly by the warden.
“Following the call, Child line officials examined the allegations and found them to be true. Later, they approached us and lodged a complaint,” said Begumpet police Inspector G Basava Reddy.
The complainant alleged that at least six girls were sufferers of the warden’s misbehavior. Most of the victims are from different districts like Kurnool, Kadapa and are staying in the hostel while studying in BPS. According to police officials said that as many as 37 girls stay in the hostel.
The police registered a case under IPC Section 359 for molestation and under sections of the Protection from Sexual Offences Act.
