Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has assured that the State Government would take all measures to develop Warangal as the second biggest city in the State after Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons at the conclusion of his three-day tour of Warangal, KCR said several problems being faced by the people in the district have been identified and their solution would be prioritised. For instance, he said the government would take up massive housing for slum-dwellers. Stating that there were 70 slums in Warangal, he said Rs 100 crore would be sanctioned for the scheme and the works would begin in the next five months. He also announced construction of community buildings for Muslims.
The Chief Minister expressed his government’s resolve to develop Warangal as Textile hub on the lines of Surat and in Gujarat. He also praised the Spiritual Centre being planned by industrialist baron Ramoji Rao and hoped that it would attract over one lakh visitors every day. (INN)
