Bangalore, October 19: A war of words broke out between Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and opposition Congress and JD(S) over the state government’s plans of leading an all-party delegation to the Centre seeking higher assistance for flood relief, from which the two parties decided to stay away.
“The opposition parties have an impression in their minds that it is their birthright to boycott all party delegations led by me on issues concerning the state,” Yeddyurappa said after Congress and JD(S) declared they would not be part of the team that would call on the Prime Minister at Delhi tomorrow.
“The delegation being taken by Yeddyurappa is premature.
We don’t feel the need for such an exercise at this stage.
