Waqf revenue can rise from 7 to 700 crore

State Waqf Board gets a revenue of Rs 7 crore from state Waqf properties, though it should have been Rs. 700 crore. 76 percent of the Waqf properties have been occupied by the encroachers. Since the moment I took charge as Special Officer State Waqf Board, I have pledged that I would leave no stone unturned to protect and restore of Waqf properties. These views were expressed by Special Officer State Waqf Board Mr. Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal IPS. He told in an interview that he is trying his best to do this. All the records will be digitalized by June 2. He believes that if the revenue of the Waqf properties is increased by protecting them it can be used for the socio-economic benefit of the Muslim community.

He told that he himself had to struggle hard to get educated. He was born in a small village of Kurnool. His father is a retired school teacher. He studied till intermediate through Telugu medium then completed degree from Adooni. He is the eldest of the 5 brothers. He has a son and a daughter. In 1987 he was selected for Group I and was appointed as DSP.

He made it clear to the public that Waqf properties are Allah’s property. State Waqf properties are worth thousands of crores of rupees and it is the duty of Muslims along with the government to protect them. Keeping in view the miserable condition of Muslims he has decided to dedicate his life for the protection of Waqf Properties.
