A masjid of Qutub Shahi era in Balapur is uninhabited for long and buffaloes are fastened at the place. The masjid is so dilapidated that the miscreants eagerly await its collapse to occupy the place. There is another old Eidgah here, spread over 38 guntas of land. Muslims are not allowed to offer Eid prayers for the past 17 years. One Sanjiva Reddy claims that the Eidgah was build by his grandfather. He has done plotting on the surrounding land and named the colony as Raghu Homes Colony. He often fastens buffaloes in the premises. A large pit has been dug behind the Eidgah filling it with water so as to undermine the structure.
Two big tombs of Qutub Shahi era are also present in the area. 6 acre 18 guntas land is recorded in the Waqf gazette under the tombs. This land is also occupied by a non-Muslim named Laxmi Reddy. The tombs are surrounded by the municipal garbage.
Similarly 1 acre 10 guntas land of old graveyard of Balapur is also occupied by a non Muslim. He is levelling the graves by dumping soil on the graves so that plotting can be done on the land after levelling it. Balapur liquor house is also located on Waqf land. The land is under the occupation of liquor house for 20 years.
No sincere action is being taken by the Waqf Board on illegal occupation and desecration of Masjid, Eidgah and graveyard.
