There is no monitoring officer in the Waqf Board for past one and a half month, this signifies government’s indifference towards protection of Waqf properties. On the other hand, activities are in its peak to form 3-member committee to take control on Waqf Board.
Failed in gaining control over Waqf Board the local party has started mounting pressure on government to immediately decide on formation of 3-member committee and withdraw appeal in High Court regarding restoration of Special Officer. It is said that following High Court orders Waqf Mafia has become active against appointment of Special Officer which is backed by local political party.
