Waqf Board takes over Dargah Hazrat Kale Shah & attached land

Secretary Minority Welfare and Competent Authority Waqf Board has directed Waqf Board officials to immediately take over Dargah Hazrat Kale Shah located at Petlaburj and graveyard attached to it. On the representation of local people he directed the Waqf Board to take over the said Dargah within three days.

It must be recalled that on June 17, Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board had directed the concerned Inspector Auditor Saber Husain to take over the Dargah administration under his direct supervision but the orders have not been followed till date.

It is said that Waqf Board has suspended the Committee on receipt of various complaints of irregularities. The Competent Authority strongly resented over the efforts to begin construction activities in graveyard. It was being tried to construct masjid and undertake some commercial construction by razing the graves. Lakhs of rupees were collected from NRIs in this connection despite the fact that locals had already sought fatwa against masjid construction inside graveyard.
