Waqf Board to take criminal action against tenants of Makkah-Madina Alauddin Waqf

Hyderabad: Waqf Board has decided to take criminal action against the tenants of Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf, as the tenants have refused to pay rents to the Waqf Board.

A meeting of tenants of Makkah-Madina Alauddin Waqf and officials of Waqf Board was held to resolve to issue. A delegation of tenants presented the problems in the presence of Waqf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem and Chief Executive Officer M A Mannan Farooqui. Waqf Board clarified that all the 700 shops under Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf are under direct supervision of Waqf Board and the Trust has been dissolved. Hence all the tenants must pay their rents to the Waqf Board. Thought the Waqf property is under the direct supervision of Waqf Board for the past three years but the officials of the Trust were collecting the rents.

On the other hand, tenants rued that they were caught between Waqf Board and the Trust and they were not able to decide whom to consider as real owner.
