Sending separate letters to Commissioner Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Chairman Task Force Collector Hyderabad, Telangana Waqf Board requested to spot illegal construction on the land adjacent to Masjid Mahboob Shahi Malakunta. In a letter sent by Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board, Mohammed Asadullah cited the report of Surveyor Waqf Board regarding illegal construction on land adjacent to the masjid.
The letter stated that Masjid Mahboob Shahi Malakunta located at Moazzam Jahi Market is registered under Waqf. A small path behind the old traffic police stations leads to the masjid. Police officials, instead of leaving a setback as per municipal regulations for new construction, are including the path leading to the masjid into the new construction.
Pillars for constructing police station are eructed on open space of the masjid which is illegal and objectionable. Pits have been dug near the masjid which can weaken the foundation of masjid.
