Waqf Board chairman inspects Nizam’s Properties

CHARMINAR: On Thursday, Mohammed Saleem, chairman of Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) inspected Waqf properties along with Nizam trust officials after the TSWB decided to act against land grabbers.

The Board chairman inspected several mosques across the city which includes Masjide-Judi, Osmangunj mosque, Afzalgunj mosque, the historic Shaikpet mosque, and an ashoorkhana in Golconda.

Later, Mr Saleem discussed the issue of encroachments surrounding the mosque with Nizam trust officials.
He said, “Hyderabad was the richest state across the country. Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur was one of the best rulers during his reign and his properties across the city must stay in focus.”

“We have taken note of all the details pertaining to land encroachments and all efforts would be made to remove illegal occupants from the Waqf lands,” Mr Salemm added.

TSWB urged the Archeological Survey of India to begin renovation of Qutb Shahi mosque in Shaikpet immediately.
