Hyderabad, November 16: Siasat correspondent talked to the young chairman of waqf board Maulana Ghulam Afzal Biabani better known as Khusro Pasha regarding the uninhabited mosques in the city and showed him the pictures of all the uninhabited mosques about which write-ups are being published in Siasat under the heading ‘Food for though for Muslims’.

Mr. Khusro Pasha saw all the mosques with enthusiasm asked his secretary to bring the files of the write-ups of the uninhabited mosques published in Siasat daily.

Then he told that he had setup a team, since day one when the first write-up about the uninhabited mosques was published in Siasat daily, to inspect each mosque and submit the report next day.

He told that youth having religious passion contacted him saying that they want to rehabilitate the abandoned mosques.

Mr. Khusro Pasha told that at the first place all the uninhabited mosques need to be segregated. How many mosques are under archeology department and how many mosques are under waqf board and how many are in Muslim inhabited areas and how many are in non Muslim inhabited areas. First the mosque located in Muslim localities will be assessed; their list would be prepared; then a committee would be formed of people residing near it and the mosque would be handed over to that committee.

During the talk with chairman waqf board it was felt that Siasat’s writeups have created unrest in the waqf board.

Chairman Waqf board said that prosperous Muslims who want to rehabilitate the mosques by doing whitewash and repair can reach waqf board for this good cause.
