Wanted dacoit arrested at Bharatpur

Jaipur, November 08: A dacoit, wanted in over a dozen cases, was arrested near Bayana town in Rajashtan’s Bharatpur district, police said today.

“Following a tip off that the dacoit Dharmendra Gujjar was coming to Chainpura village to attend the engagement ceremony of his younger brother, police encircled and nabbed him yesterday,” Circle Officer of Bayana Rajesh Singh said today.

A gun and two live cartridges were also recovered from him, Singh said.

“Gujjar was wanted in over a dozen cases of murder, loot and dacoity. He was absconding for over a year after killing one of his relatives who, he suspected, worked as a police informer,” he said.

Gujjar (21) was produced before a local court which sent him to judicial custody, Singh added.
