Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Thursday said that that his country had some concerns over the relations between India and the US but added that it wanted a strong neighbourhood and good relations with India.
“There is no fear but there are concerns which are mentioned in the statement that was issued,” Basit told ANI.
“We want a strong neighbourhood and good relations with India and all our neighbours,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, in a statement said the operationalization of the Indo-US nuclear deal for political and economic expediencies would have a detrimental impact on deterrence stability in South Asia.
He also said Pakistan was opposed to yet another country-specific exemption from NSG rules to grant membership to India , as this would further compound the already fragile strategic stability environment in South Asia. (ANI)
