Actress Bipasha Basu says she has ceased doing multiple movies a year as she wants to “enjoy life” and not work round the clock like other actors.
“My priorities in life are not like the other actors. My priority is not to work 24×7, 365 days an year. It’s exhausting. I don’t like my calender managed more than one month. When one month is over, I want freedom and everyone to disappear and leave me alone.
“I like my work but everything in my life is like…I want to decide when to do what. It’s not a do-or-die situation,” Bipasha told PTI.
The 36-year-old actress, who made her debut in a supporting role in 2001 with “Ajnabee”, bagged her first leading role in Vikram Bhatt’s horror film “Raaz” in 2002.
Bipasha has been a part of horror films like “Raaz 3”, “Aatma” and this year’s release “Alone”, but the actress says there is no conscious decision to stick to the genre.
“Horror and supernatural films have been more in the last three years because the number of films I do are less now. I chose to do one film a year. I’ve been working since 2001. I want to now live my life, the money I’ve earned I’ve to use it, I want to enjoy my life, otherwise when will I do? After getting old?” she asked.
The actress, however, is happy being called “Queen of Fear” and feels proud of the tag, which she says is her “domain”.
“I have a very deep connection with horror genre. I’ve been crusading it since 2002. It was never planned. But the stories which have excited me in the last three years have been horror…
“It’s beautiful when people say you’ve got the tag of ‘queen of fear’. I love it as it is something which no one has ever achieved in the entire diaspora of Hindi films, from the time it started till now. It’s my domain.
