Wall collapsed at Tagari Naka, killing two

On Thursday evening, under Hussaini Alam police station limits, a wall collapsed on two daily wage workers burying them alive at a demolition site at Tagari Naka.

As per police, they were busy in demolishing a building when the wall collapsed on them. Under its impact an adjacent wall collapsed leaving them trapped under the wreckage.

According to police, the incident happened at around 4 pm when the deceased, Ramu, 20year-old, a resident of Ashok Nagar and Suresh, 26year-old, of Ibrahimpatnam, were bulldozing a portion of the building.

The 48-year-old residential building, ‘Nanda Niketan’ was being razedby workers engaged by the house owner, Punditji, by hiring a labour contractor, Sai Prasad, police said.

Hussaini Alam Sub-Inspector, Srinivasalu said, “Around 10 people were working at the site when the wall collapsed. Ramu and Suresh, who were trapped under the rubble, might have died of suffocation.” The police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Osmania Hospital for autopsy.

Police registered a cases of negligence against the house owner and labour contractor under Section 304A (causing death by negligence).
