Walia slams police over handling of minor rape case

New Delhi, September 23: Health Minister Kiran Walia today slammed Delhi Police for “being insensitive” in questioning three minors, who were sexually assaulted for the past one-and-a-half years allegedly by a school cab driver.

Condemning the heinous crime, Walia said the misery of the family has been compounded by lack of sensitivity on the part of local police while questioning the minors.

Cab driver Lalit Ratawal was arrested last Friday for raping a young girl and sodomising her two brothers for about one-and-a-half years in Prasad Nagar area of central Delhi.

“It is surprising that the sensitivity required to handle to such a sensitive matter has been found missing on the part of the police,” Walia said after meeting the mother of the victims.
