Wakf properties safeguard – Govt. responsibility: CM

Hyderabad, September 12 (Siasat News): The Chief Minister K. Roshaiah, at the press meet here in the Lake View Guest House said that the primary duty of the press was to bring to light the discrepancies of the System and bring them to the notice of the Authorities. He said the interests of the Minorities will be safeguarded and all the Policies of Reservations in Education and Employment for the Muslim Minorities and other welfare schemes started by the Late Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajashekhara Reddy will be continued without any hold ups.

Mr. K. Roshaiah said, the safeguarding of the Wakf Properties was the duty and responsibility of the Government. And no bias or discrimination would be shown to the minorities. The waiving of the fees and granting of various Scholarships to Muslim students would be continued.

It was the first press meet of the CM Mr.K. Roshaiah after the accidental death of the former CM. Dr. YSR.Reddy in a helicopter crash in the Nallamalla forests on 2nd Sept . He said a big vacuum is created in the State after the demise of the late CM YSR. Paying rich and glowing tributes to the late leader he said all the welfare programmes and schemes initiated by Dr. Reddy will be continued and carried out expeditiously . Praising the various welfare schemes and programmes started by Dr. Reddy, Mr. K.Roshaiah, said that , no other State Govt. in the country had even thought of such new and beneficial programmes as Dr. Reddy. To fulfill all of them was the bounden duty of his Govt. He reminded that in the last Assembly election, the congress party and workers had unanimously chosen him as their leader and made him the Chief Minister for the second term.

Mr. K. Roshaiah, recalled they used to meet regualary and Dr. Reddy used to say “we do not need to introduce any new programmes as the programmes and schemes introduced were well enough and the implementation of them should be expedited. Even that was not enough, We must go to the rural areas and get in touch with them and get to know their problems first hand.” Hence, “he had started the programme of mass contact Rachna Badha. On one such mass contact tour, he was flying to Chitoor District when the mishap occurred. The programme was unique and novel and really worth praising and emulating. Unfortunately we lost him” the CM said.

In the press meet attended by the Tourism Minister Mrs. A Geeta Reddy Mr. Roshiah affirmed that not only will his Govt. continue all his progammes and schemes but will see to it that they are implemented to fruition, expeditiously.

The meeting well attended by the Chief Editor of the URDU Daily SIASAT. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, The Editor in Chief of REHENUMA E DECCAN Syed Vicaruddin Qadri, and the Editor of the MUNSIF Mr. Khan Lateef Khan, and the Mr. Kingshuk Nag , the resident Editor of the TIMES Of INDIA, and Mr. Sikanth of THE HINDU and Mr. Kiran of the EENADU were present.

Later the Chief Minister hosted a Luncheon to the Press Men. The Muslim Editors , excusing themselves citing Ramzan went on to offer their mid noon prayers.
