(Siasat News) Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. A.V. Joseph told that the Forest Dept. got land from the Govt. through its Revenue Dept. which includes Wakf land of 62.17 acres. He also informed that a compensation of Rs. 7,38,609 has also been given. When asked about a big Muslim graveyard and the tomb of a Muslim saint situated in Zoo area, Mr. Joseph denied it. He was presented a report published in Siasat Urdu Daily 4 months back which negates the statement made by Joseph.
When the Chairman of Wakf Board, Maulana Syed Shah Gulam Afzal Biyabani was contacted, he said that Wakf Board did not receive any remuneration from the Govt. From the records it was confirmed that the Forest Dept., brought this Wakf land @ Rs. 11,913 per acre which works out to Rs. 2.46 per sq. Yards. As per the existing market rates the total value of Wakf property is more than Rs. 100 hundred. Wakf Board authorities are requested to take up the case with the Govt. to recover the value from the Govt.
