Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman, A.P. State Wakf Board has been receiving threatening calls from the persons who are claiming to belong to Ahmediya Sect. They are threatening of dire consequences. They are saying that if the Chairman of Wakf Board takes initiative to take the possessions of the Mosques held by Ahmediya persons, he would even be assassinated.
Earlier the Chairman, had neglected these threatening calls but when the calls were incessant and the ttreats increased, he wrote letters to Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and D.G.P. of A.P. for taking necessary action and to find out the forces working behind it.
It may be recalled that sometime back, many Muslim scholars have been pressurizing the Govt. to confiscate the Mosques and other properties possessed by Ahmediyas. These Ahmediyas are commonly called Qadiyanis. They have been declared non-Muslims by Muslim Ulema throughout the World.
Taking the cognizance of these representations, the Chairman of Wakf board had directed the M.A. Gaffar, CEO of A.P. State Wakf Board to issue instructions to District Inpsector Auditors of Wakf to identify the properties held by Ahmediyas within two days.
The intentions of the Chairman of Wakf Board were published in Siasat. After the publication of this news, the Chairman started getting threatening calls from Ahmediyas. It is learnt that an important decision is likely to be taken in the meeting of the Wakf Board which is scheduled to be held on 18th February.
