Wakf Board to play key role in “Land Survey” to protect its lands

Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali told that TS Wakf Board can play a key role in the protection of Wakf Lands by getting the appropriate entries made in the ongoing survey of lands by revenue officials. He further told that for the first time in the history of Telangana, such a comprehensive survey of lands is being done. Wakf Board should identify every inch of its land in villages and see that it is entered in Revenue Records as wakf land. It could prevent illegal possession and sale of wakf lands.

He also mentioned that Wakf Board always grumbles that its lands have been wrongly entered as Govt. properties in revenue records. Now that there is an opportunity for the Wakf officials to get their lands entered in revenue records correctly. He also pointed out that in this way, important wakf lands could be protected by way of correct entries in the land survey. These properties could be utilized for the welfare and developmental activities of the Muslims. He said that very soon, he would convene a review meeting of the revenue officials to formulate the strategy for the inclusion of Wakf lands in the survey. Such of the lands which are involved in court cases could be exposed through this survey.
