Wakf Board issues notices to tenants of Makkah Madina Alauddin wakf and Nabi Khana buildings

Hyderabad: Mr. Mohammed Saleem Chairman and Mr. M.A. Mannan Farooqui CEO of TS Wakf Board visited the wakf buildings of Nabi Khana Maulvi Akbar and Makkah Madina Alauddin and admonished the tenants for not paying rents to Wakf Board properly. They were accompanied by two Tehsildars, namely, Ms. Uma Maheswari and Ms. Mumtaz Begum. Police was given prior intimation for meeting the any unforeseen situation.

Mr. Saleem told the tenants that they should co-operate Wakf Board for the enhancement of its income. Most of the tenants of these wakf buildings have been paying monthly rents of Rs. 200-500 whereas the market rate is Rs. 20000-25000. These tenants have been issued notices for payments of enhanced rents but they are refusing to comply with these notices.

It was decided that the tenants of Nabi Khana Maulvi Akbar would meet the chairman in his office on Saturday and the tenants of Makkah Madina Alauddin Wakf would meet him in Haj House on Monday to negotiate about the enhancement of rents.

There are more than 300 shops under Nabi Khana Maulvi Akbar and 700 under Makkah Madina wakf buildings. If all the tenants start paying enhanced rents, the income of Wakf Board would increase considerably.

Talking to newsmen yesterday, Mr. Saleem told that a regular campaign is being launched to get the income of the Wakf Board enhanced. Its objective is to start welfare schemes.
