(Siasat News) A.P. Sate Wakf Board has accelerated its efforts to file a counter affidavit in respect of LANCO Hills land. Its hearing is scheduled to be held on 3rd December. Wakf Board has made arrangements for filing the counter affidavit .
A meeting of Wakf Board was held yesterday under the Chairmanship of its president, Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani. The affidavit to be submitted to Supreme Court was discussed in the meeting. Mr. Shafeeq Mohajir, Advocate was specially invited to the meeting. He explained the details of the affidavit. It is being sent to Supreme Court which will come up for hearing on 3rd December. The members of Wakf Board expressed their satisfaction on the line of argument adopted in the affidavit to establish the ownership of the land. The board also appreciated the efforts of the Chairman adopted to protect Wakf land. Chairman and the Lawyer have prepared the affidavit in consultation with the noted legal expert of Delhi, Mr. K.K. Lahiri. The services of other lawyers of the Supreme Court have also been taken in the preparation of the draft of the affidavit. Board is confident that its claim on the Wakf land under Dargah Hzt. Hussain Shah Wali Rh., could be presented in Supreme Court on firm grounds.
It is expected that noted jurist Fali S. Nariman will argue the case on behalf of Wakf Board in Supreme Court.
The Board approved 4 Muthawallies (Custodians) and 18 Wakf Committees. Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin, Mr. Nizamuddin Saberi, Maulana Syed Shah Zaheeruddin Ali Soofi, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel IAS, Mr. Zakir Jaweed and Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hameed, CEO of Wakf Board attended the meeting.
