Wakf Board fails to protect its property: Noor Khan Bazar delegation meets Zahid Ali Khan

Hyderabad: The residents of Noor Khan Bazar expressed their wrath at the failure of Wakf Board in protecting a major Dargah and wakf land adjacent to it.

A delegation of local residents of Noor Khan Bazar met Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and made a representation that illegal possessors have occupied wakf land in Dargah Hazrat Syed Sahab located at Noor Khan Bazar. They informed that this property is registered in Wakf Board Gazette. Despite it, Wakf Board officials entered the area of the land as less in their records. The local residents presented the survey records of Wakf Board in which it was clearly indicated that there were houses around the dargah and an open plot was allocated for dargah which is occupied by illegal possessors. This land is about 500-600 sq. yards but Wakf Board is evading conducting its survey. The residents demanded that if the survey is conducted, the actual land could be located and action could be taken against the illegal possessors. They also told that this land is being used for tying cattle and it is obstructing the passage of the devotees for going to the dargah.

The local residents made a complaint against the illegal possessors in Dabeerpura Police Station on 23rd September last year but no action was taken. The illegal possessors approached High Court and got injunction orders but Wakf Board which is the Mutawalli of this property has not taken any action to evict this order.

The local residents also mentioned that the CEO of Wakf Board visited the place without informing the local residents and after inspecting the documents of illegal possessors went back. They appealed to Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of Wakf Board to visit the place and protect wakf property.
